Review: V-Strom Mirror Extenders

Yes.

If you are happy with the original equipment rear view mirrors, you will be happier if you extend their reach with mirror extenders.

vstrom mirrorsSuzuki put a nice set of mirrors on the V-Strom. They are not particularly sleek or “fast” looking, but they match the style of the motorcycle nicely.

The concept of an extender interested me because they can be added and removed to any mirror set. If I were to buy a set of outlandish mirrors, I would be left with one set or the other. Extenders change the position of any mirrors, and I was surprised by the new range of positions provided by the hinge that is the extender. What was a circle around the center bolt is now a thicker donut ring of accessible space.

I got a set of mirror extenders from that Rick guy on the VSRI forum.

Update: I took a picture of the mirror extenders installed:

nice job, I made some mirror extenders from some plexi I had in the shop and 2 metric bolts and nuts..cost about $4.00 for the metal.
    Work great, great idea !

I’ve dealt with Rick for other parts he’s a good guy, but never tried his mirror extenders, instead I went with bar end mirrors they make the bike look lower (to me). 90% of the buffeting on my K3 Vee is now gone!
