Fuel tank protector film installation
I installed a tankslapper tank protector kit, and I’d like to share my experience so far. This kit is a single piece of clear plastic film with no adhesive. It goes on just like a window cling (according to my girlfriend), and is virtually invisible after installation.
I was surprised that this particular protector covers almost the exact area of the OEM tank bra that I recently removed and sold to Michael in Georgia.
Here are a few pictures of the film in place before I removed the paper backing.
Here is a picture just after I installed the film. I used a spray bottle full of soapy water to wet the entire surface and slide the film into place. I am really glad I didn’t get the thicker kind with adhesive, because I had to back off and realign the cover a few times. It is very easy to remove and reapply.
I like this look a lot better, and this guard won’t hold dirt like the cloth tank bra did.

I too would like to know how to get this stuff. I have a black bike, and I need all the protection I can get.
